This election takes place on Nov 4, 2008

The Missouri Governor's race looks to be a tight and nasty one with incumbent Matt Blunt's approval ratings in the 40s throughout 2007. His main challenger, Jay Nixon, is the state's four-time Attorney General.

Candidates

		Matt Blunt Governor Matt Blunt is the Governor of Missouri, elected in 2004 at the age off 33, making him the second youngest person ever elected to the Missouri governorship. He is running for reelection in 2008.
		Jay Nixon Attorney General Jeremiah "Jay" Nixon is in his fourth term as Missouri's Attorney General. The only person to have ever been elected to this position four times, he is also a Democratic candidate for Missouri Governor in 2008.

Issues

Missouri Katrina Doctrine Bill The so called Missouri "Katrina Doctrine" bill was signed into law by Gov. Blunt. It is based on the Second Amendment and ensures that legal gun owners in Missouri cannot have their guns taken away during a disaster relief effort.
