Biden just said "nope".

The only major contenders who haven't been exposed to a fancy runway-model audition are...Hillary, Gore and Sebelius.

Gore will not be Vice-President. Biden might not be either.

Biden - questionable. Gore out. Obamas choice has been made for a while. He's just playing out the game.

Yeah. McCain will hopefully choose Tom Ridge and destroy the GOP.

I'd love to tee off on Ridge, whose one claim to fame is creating the Homeland Security fiasco -- Katrina, Heckuvajob Brownie, FEMA, the goofy hair, the works. And if McCain is having hallucinations about winning Pennsylvania, he really needs to get back on his meds.

Ridge, the perfect running mate for John McCain. Just kidding. He's the perfect running mate for Democrats

I agree. I think Obama knew long ago, and he's just been entertaining the media with this endless series of trial balloons -- the two Senators travelling to Iraq, Biden going to Georgia, Clark attacking McCain, Kaine taking his runway stroll followed by Bayh...

Sebelius did NOT take a runway stroll at any time.

Neither did the big guns -- Hillary, Gore, Kerry, Powell -- but I'm starting to think Sebelius again.

I don't think she will get the nod, but she might.

I think Biden or Bayh have a better chance than her, but she still has a chance.

If he's thinking more in line of historical aspects, she's back at the top.

I think Clinton is a stronger woman than Sebelius because she could appeal to the Democratic base than Sebelius.

You know, call me crazy, but I'm really starting to think that Clinton would be a better running mate than Biden. Bayh, or Kaine.

The thing is, the only thing Obama himself has said, is "when I announce it, you will know, and until then everything you see or hear is a load of bull". But for two months we've still been speculating about people rising and falling on a list of candidates which is itself based on speculation. NONE of this speculation is based on ANY factual input from the only source that matters, the Obama campaign. So watching the "stock market" of names go up and down is merely a straw poll of...reporters polling EACH OTHER on who they like that day.

Sebelius is an "early adopter" of Obama -- brave for a female Democrat in the era of Team Hillary -- and Obama and Sebelius were doing coordinated campaign stops way back in the spring. She would win over all the Hillary fans except the last-ditch OMG-they-cancelled-the-Gilmore-Girls diehards, and swing the debate right into Obama's wheelhouse issues -- change, postpartisan cooperation, improvement on the domestic front. Every time McCain launches another snotty, sneering, dishonest attack on Obama, Obama can just come out and say "McCain TALKS about bipartisanship, but Kathy S has been walking the walk from the beginning."

AND Sebelius has shown she can get Republicans, moderates and independents to vote for her, in one of the reddest states on the planet.

I really can't believe that, with all the good choices Obama has, he is really thinking about two zilches like Bayh and Kaine. They could just have been head fakes to make McCain panic and spend money in Indiana and Virginia. Obama needs to energize the base and the race -- and those two guys are not energy candidates.

Shadow -- Obama already HAS the Democratic base. He needs moderates, independents and Republicans. And Sebelius scores in those groups better than almost anyone on the list.

And she will get the Hillary people too. Hillary (or perhaps Bill) may be thinking that all those 18 million women were in love with HER -- they were in love with (a) a woman, (b) who represents their views on their issues, esepcially (c) Roe v Wade. Sebelius gives them everything they want, without all the Clinton drama. And incidentally, Obama has made clear to his campaign that he intensely dislikes drama.

Energy, yes. Drama, no.

But Hillary is a good attack dog. I mean look at how she attacked Obama during the primaries. If she attacks John McCain like that while Obama takes the high ground, they'll be unbeatable.
