I think that this is it. This is part 1, part two is in the little scroll bar on the side of the screen.

I like Colbert. He's a crack-up.
But there is no way in hell I would vote for him for President. He's a character, an amalgamation of parodies of other (somewhat extreme) news commentators. The opinions he puts forth are not necessarily that of Colbert the person, but of Colbert the character. I wouldn't vote for him because I wouldn't know if I was getting the character or the person. And I don't agree with Colbert the character, because he's a satire. And I don't know anything about Colbert the person.
Colbert the President would be a farce. It would be an absolute joke.
But you're right. It might not be worse than what we've got going now.
This seems too much like the story line of a recent movie...hmm... But Colbert just isn't taking politics that serious. How do I know if he knows whats going on himself, or just having people behind the scenes telling him what's going on. I don't, so therefore I don't have any confidence in him running for president.
It wouldn't surprise me, though, if the election poles for South Carolina increased threefold this upcoming election, and this increase was equal to the number of Colbert votes.
As I said before, because I've never seen what Colbert the person is like, I wouldn't vote for him, because I wouldn't want to vote a character into office. Imagine if we elected Schwarzenegger as governor here in California, only to find that we had actually elected the Kindergarten Cop
