Indie run for President?

Will he really do it?  Could he be a viable candidate if he did?

I'm not sure if he has the persona to play well throughout the country.

Way too late in the game at this point. I think Fred Thompson is gonna be the last candidate we'll see announced.

I am sure that he would love to but at the same time is incredibly practical. If he thinks there is a window or need, I would bet that he steps in.

I think he will, almost on the basis of "fashionably late" rather than it being too late. It would be too late for someone who is running in a party's primary or someone who depends on contributions from the public.

I think he will, but only if the democratic and republican nominees are far enough apart politically. I think he is supposed by sometime in March '08.

its definitely not too late. as early as last march he had all the logistics (deadlines, number of signatures, cost) figured out, per state. this is a guy who's notorious for telling new employees to "not f it up". the most interesting question at the moment, i think, is whether anyone other than obama can grab indie voters (and of course, will O continue to). MB won't run if he doesn't think he can win, but he's itching to jump in.

I don't think he will run mainly because he knows he can't win. Independents always have a difficult time winning and the fact that he is divorced and Jewish will probably hurt him with republican voters.

I really doubt he has a chance. A majority of people that live outside New York probably don't know enough about him to consider him for president.
