I initially liked the idea of having a nice long nomination cycle. More and more poeple are being brought into the Democratic process and registering as Democrats all across our nation. But as this process nears its end, it becomes clear that for one to win, one must lose. A very difficult situation indeed. On the basis of policies, proposals, and issues - both candidates are very similiarly aligned with minor differences in implementation. Now that we have reached the point that for one to win - the other's electability must be destroyed. As a proud member of the Democratic Party, it deeply concerns me the negative tone our nomination process has taken. Looking at the math after Pennsylvania, it has become clear that Super Delegates must form a consensus to nominate a candidate to represent all of us. I personally believe that Barack Obama should be our nominee. He has demonstrated throughout his campaign a message of unity that has successfully resonated with younger voters that will serve our nation well for years to come. He has demonstrated organizational fundraising skills that have out-paced any to date that can be utilized quite effectively all across our nation for years to come. I am very concerned that to sweep that infrastructure aside may have quite honestly catastrophic consequences that we not not soon recover from. Here is a clear example of the negative tone: NC GOP begins to run ads about Obama/Wright - McCain immediately denounces, Clinton campaign - NO response - sending the message that they expected it and that it's ok? Any proud Democrat should immediately denounce the GOP running such clearly divisive content. Our country truly needs change from this type of politics, the Clinton's silence has clearly spoken on this issue - if we are to unite as a party, we need this divisiveness to end sooner than later. It would be a huge monetary advantage, with the fundraising grassroots infrastructure put in place by Barack Obama, to have him as our nominee. I want to grow our party and he has done just that. I like the prospects of our countries bright future, I just dont see Hillary getting us there as one of the most polarizing candidates that we could possibly nominate - and that is right out of the gate. Obama is a fresh new face, very intelligent, with a sincere message, sound policies and proposals, and has run a masterful campaign. Please come on board so we can keep the Republican crossovers we have and draw even more in. I look forward to hearing about your endorsement soon, I hope.
