Ideally outsourcing would create higher lever jobs, but since you need to attent higher learning institutions, the poor are left out. And their jobs are the ones that suffer due to outsourcing.

One of the few policy initiatives I've heard first mentioned by McCain that I agree with is his desire to increase community college funding to offer more classes in job retraining. Offering jobs varying from nursing and IT to low level engineering classes that would go from laying down and setting up internet infrastructure to construction work that requires a certain level of expertise. I like this idea and think it would help a lot of people who have lost industrial jobs. A lot of retraining could be completed in less that 12 months if people can attend a school full-time, and under two years with people attending part-time. But I do agree with you in general Spike, the way the current system is set up the poor get the short end of the stick. Sure they get cheaper consumer goods to buy, but they have crappier jobs and less buying power.

McCain used to be a moderate. Then the loony right made clear to him -- do it our way or you won't even be nominated, ever.

Have you guys take a look at high-tech industries lately? Even they are not outsourcing, most of them are hiring oversea techs to fulfill job over the U.S because of lower wages, and better skills.
