Public Campaign Financing strongly supports CED claims to be at the forefront of campaign finance reform since 1997. CED was instrumental in the passage of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA) in 2002. It has released reports on C.F.R. that highlight shortcomings in current election finance law. CED also offers a series of grants designed to track and monitor implementation of the new federal campaign finance system. |

Corporate Governance supports Corporate governance has been the focus of several CED reports and panel discussions. The committee's position on the state of corporate governance is that the Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and other new government-imposed rules, though beneficial on balance and deserving of time to become fully effective, are not sufficient to restore trust in business. CED recommends additional practical and effective changes in financial statements, executive compensation, selection of corporate boards, and other matters. These changes, it feels, do require new government mandates. |

Public Preschool strongly supports Since the 2002 release of its early education report, CED has been engaged in an aggressive national campaign to build momentum surrounding investment in early education. CED released a report entitled, The Economic Promise of Investing in High-Quality Preschool: Using Early Education to Improve Economic Growth and the Fiscal Sustainability of States and the Nation. |

School Vouchers against CED has long objected to private school vouchers because they would funnel scarce public resources, which would otherwise be available to improve public education, to support private education. The organization would be open to changing its opinion if given sufficient data on the effect of vouchers on student achievement, social diversity, and other important goals of the education enterprise. |

No Child Left Behind Act against In its report on Public School Finance released in Feb 2004, CED states that NCLB policy focuses on outcomes and accountability without reforming schools and education funding in such a way that they can achieve those outcomes. |
