Margaret Spellings (R) Secretary Formerly the political director for Bush I's first gubernatorial campaign in 1994 and later his senior advisor as Governor from 1995-2000, Spellings became Secretary of Education in 2005. As Secretary, she has been a strong support of NCLB.
