This group includes political action committees. Privately funded groups created to elect or defeat candidates and advocate for or against issues and legislation, PACs must, however, spend their money and campaign independently of the candidate.
Donation limits to PACs are different from those allowed for individual candidates. They may receive individual donations up to $5,000 and can be used to donate money to other candidates, political parties, and other PACs.
