Background

	Jay Rockefeller (D) Chairman A Democratic exception to his oil dynasty family, Jay was West Virginia's Governor (1977-85) before entering the Senate in 1985. As Chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence, Rockefeller's been an outspoken critic of Bush's handling of the Iraq War.
	Kit Bond (R) Ranking Member Once trying his hand at law, Bond later became Governor of Missouri for two separate terms (1973-7 & 1981-5) before becoming a Missouri Senator in 1987. He is currently in his 4th term and up for re-election in 2011.
