Background

	Patrick Leahy (D) Chairman Once a State County Attorney in Vermont, Leahy entered the U.S. Senate in 1974 for that state and has won re-election ever since. As the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, he's recently been critical of Attorney General Gonzales and Vice President Cheney
	Norm Coleman (R) Ranking Member Prior to winning the Senate seat for Minnesota in 2002, Coleman served as Mayor of Saint Paul (1994-2002). He was a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. Once a student activist in the early 70's, he's now firmly in line with Republican beliefs.
