One of out every one hundred Americans is incarcerated. In jail. Behind bars. Right now. 1 of 100. This is unprecedented in in American history. McCain's Attacks on Republicans (jsmccainisinsane's Blog)

In 1995, Sen. McCain Had A “Scuffle” With 92-Year-Old Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-SC) On The Senate Floor. “In January 1995, McCain was midway through an opening statement at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing when chairman Strom Thurmond asked, ‘Is the senator about through?’ McCain glared at Thurmond, thanked him for his ‘courtesy’ (translation: buzz off), and continued on. McCain later...

McCain All-In On Iraq (Mark Nickolas' Blog)

How awesome is it that John McCain (R) wants this presidential campaign to be about Iraq? Rather than run from the nation's worst foreign policy debacle in history, McCain is embracing it and making it his campaign centerpiece.

And not just that, McCain apparently intends to argue that Bush-style diplomacy -- where you only talk with your friends and bomb your enemies -- is the right way to go.

It's just so...

Quote of the Day (Mark Nickolas' Blog)

I loved this quote from Hillary Clinton (D) this morning:

"I have a great deal of respect for Sen. McCain. But yesterday, he made it clear that when it comes to the economy, he looks at the hole that President Bush has dug us into and says 'Why not more? Lets go deeper"," she said. "You...

Politico: Advisers Worry About 'Grumpy McCain' (Mark Nickolas' Blog)

Seems a little late in the game to now be worrying about this, doesn't it?

[W]hat friends call “grumpy McCain” is showing up regularly on the campaign trail, and several top advisers worry that it’s hurting his campaign by making him appear peevish and hunkered down when the country is looking for a larger and...

Exchange Rate Dems vs Republicans (anthrospeak's Blog)
So the better half really wants a piece of turf in Spain. My damage is, the exchange rate is purchase-prohibitive. My friends in the know, on the other side of the pond, assure me that if we get a Donkey back into the White House, King Greenback will rule again. Now I'm no economist, but I would think that for all their olive-branch grandstanding, those central bankers in Europe respect a pugnacious United States - in other words,...

Obama Up 10% or more in 264 Electoral Vote States (Obama Up 10% or more in 264 Electoral Vote States Board)
http://www.electoral-vote.com/ The biggest problem for McCain isn't that he's still losing the popular vote by 4-8% it's that Obama has double digit leads in almost enough state's to win the election. The Powell endorsement and $150 mil in September don't help either. 16 day till history is written 'my friends'.

Now that he's the Republican nominee, don't you think it's time for John McCain (R) to assemble a real campaign organization that knows what's going on to ensure that the campaign is finally abiding by FEC rules, instead of responding to questions like this?

KY-01: Friends of Exxon Ed Whitfield (RDemocrat's Blog)
In Kentucky's First Congressional District our Congressman Exxon Ed Whitfield has plenty of friends. Unfortunately, since he doesn't live in our district most of them are not from here. He holds our seat due to owning an empty lot in Madisonville, and because his father lives in Hopkinsville. Gee, I thought he had under-achieved in his service to this district, but a man Whitfield's age that still lives with his dad? Or does he pitch a...

Despite an ongoing FBI investigation into incumbent Republican Senator Ted Stevens, fundraising does not seem to be an issue for the embattled Senator.
