Abraham Lincoln's Biography
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States and within one month of becoming President the Civil War started. After four years of fighting the Civil War ended with the South surrendering. Within a week of the surrender Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth while he watched a play.
He is remembered as being a great speech writer, giving such famous speeches as the Gettysburg Address and issuing things like the Emancipation Proclamation which freed all slaves, and signed the 13th Amendment to the Constitution which banned slavery throughout the United States.
