Brian Schweitzer is the Governor of Montana. He was elected to office in January 2005 and is running for re-election in November 2008. He is the Vice-Chair of the Democratic Governors Association.

-Supporter of the controversial "clean coal" technology. -Supports using coal to make liquid fuels. This is a very environmentally taxing process.
Additional Information
- Schweitzer has proposed making synthetic petroleum out of coal to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, while capturing and sequestering greenhouse-gases such as carbon dioxide.
