Edward John "Ed" Markey has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 1976, representing the 7th District of Massachusetts. Ed Markey is not only the Dean of the Massachusetts House delegation.

Macdonald, reelected to the sixteen succeeding Congresses (November 2, 1976-present).
