Freedom of Information Act

Cosponsor - The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), of the United States Code, generally provides that any person has the right to request access to federal agency records or information and each federal agency is responsible for there own records. Bills and Resolutions Title: To require prisons and other correctional facilities holding Federal prisoners under a contract with the Federal Government to make the same information available to the public that Federal prisons and correctional facilities are required to do by law.
Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)

The FISA prescribes procedures for the physical and electronic surveillance and collection of "foreign intelligence information" between "foreign powers and its agents", this may include American citizens and permanent residents engaged in espionage.

Co-sponsor: To amend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 to establish a procedure for authorizing certain acquisitions of foreign intelligence, and for other purposes.

Defense of Marriage Act

The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) provides that no State shall be required to give effect to a law of any other State with respect to a same-sex "marriage." Also, it defines the words "marriage" and "spouse" for purposes of Federal law.

Co-sponsor: To amend title 28, United States Code, to limit Federal court jurisdiction over questions under the Defense of Marriage Act.
