Jesse Jackson Jr. is a Representative from Illinois. He was born in Greenville, SC. on March 11, 1965. He is the son of prominent civil rights activist Jesse Jackson.

Priot to serving in Congress, Jackson attended North Carolina A&M, Technical State University, the Chicago Theological Seminary, and the University of Illinois College of Law. He was very active in civil rights activism.

He was elected to Congress in 1995.
