Lieberman said in a October 2000 vice-presidential debate that abortion should be a decision left to a woman, her doctor and her god. He voted against maintaining a ban on military base abortions the same year.
Iraq Troop Surge

Lieberman expressed support for the surge in a 29 Dec 2006 Washington Post op-ed in which he wrote that American colonels were asking for more troops than generals. On February 5 and 17, 2007, Lieberman voted to block a cloture on resolutions opposing the surge.
