Mick Staton's Biography

He is Chairman of the Board of Supervisors' Transportation/Land Use Committee and also serves on the Board's Finance/Government Services Committee.

He represents Loudoun County on the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, the Northern Virginia Transportation Coordinating Council (TCC), Dulles Area Transportation Association (DATA), and Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Metropolitan Washington Air Quality Committee (MWAQC) and National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board.

He also represents the Board of Supervisors on the Loudoun County Library Board of Trustees, Fiscal Impact Analysis Technical Review Committee, and Loudoun County Board of Supervisors/School Board Joint Committee.

Mick grew up in South Charleston, W.Va., and moved to Northern Virginia in 1980. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from West Virginia University, where he also earned a master’s degree in public administration.

He is Vice President of Capitol Link, Inc., a government relations firm specializing in representing cities, counties and other local governmental entities in Washington, D.C. He formerly served as Chairman of the Loudoun County Young Republicans, and was a founding member of the Loudoun Taxpayers Coalition.

He is married, has two children, and lives in the Sugarland Run District.
