Agricultural Subsidies supports Pelosi voted no on the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002, which renews the 1996 Farm Bill providing $11 billion each year in agricultural subsidies, but voted yes on the Agricultural Act of 2001 which also would have provided subsidies. Pelosi tried to reform the 2007 Farm Bill by cutting subsidies and capping payments. Ultimately, she signed off on the bill that grants subsidies to farms that earn up to $1 million per year and increases actual payments to farmers. |
