Stephen J. Snow's Biography

He is Chairman of the Board of Supervisors' Human Services Committee and also serves on the Board’s Economic Development and Transportation/Land Use Committees.

He represents Loudoun County on the Northern Virginia Regional Commission, the Route 28 Transportation Improvement District Commission, Northern Virginia Transportation Coordinating Council (TCC), and Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Committee on Noise Abatement at National and Dulles Airports.

He also represents the Board of Supervisors on the Loudoun County Social Services Board, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors/School Board Joint Committee, and Loudoun County Affordable Dwelling Unit Advisory Board.

He was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Arizona State University, and a master's degree in business management from Central Texas University. He is also a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, the U.S. Army Inspector General Course, and the U.S. Army War College National Defense Security Planning Course.

He retired as a Colonel after serving 25 years with the U.S. Army. During his service with the Army, he served in a variety of aviation operations and logistical assignments, from entry through policy and senior decision-making positions. He currently is an independent consultant on matters relating to supply chain management and logistics technology.

He lives in South Riding with his wife Patricia, who is a history teacher for the Fairfax County Public Schools. They have two children, Alissa and Marcus, and two grandsons.
