Formerly a Louisiana State Representative (1972-2000), "Woody" Jenkins ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in 1996, after having changed ranks from Democrat to Republican just 2 years earlier.
A member of the highly secrative Council for National Policy, he served as its first Executive Director and is curently on its Board of Govenors and a member of its Executive Comittee. The CNP is known for the influence wielded by the idea of Dominionism, a political view that in large part holds that the laws of the United States and in particular the Constitution should be modified to reflect a biblical interpretation of goverment. In this they are similar to the Islamist movment that is now sweeping the middle east.
