Uhg... how about the schools worry about education?
I have to agree with this post. Schools have a hard enough time teaching math, science, and English to students, that should be much more of a priority than exercise (which is a matter of personal responsibility). I do believe that schools should take junk food out and only feed children healthy foods but that is a decision to be made at the local level by the school board not in Washington where the food lobbyists will decide what exactly "healthy" food is.
I understand your concern but the fact is the the US can't keep funding the war on drugs. Our prisons are getting too full because of it. 60% of the federal prison population are non violent drug offender, in my state of Pennsylvania we are going to have to build a new prison every year to keep up with the increase in drug convictions. Think of how much money this is costing the taxpayers, and is it working ? No, drugs are still readily available for anyone who wants them. we repealed the prohibition of alcohol in 1933 because everyone was still drinking and criminals were using the money to finance mob wars all over the country. How is that any different from what is going on with drugs ?
We have to start treating drug addiction like a medical problem and not a criminal problem. That is how they do it in the Netherlands and they have the lowest drug related death rate in all of Europe. Is smoking a criminal problem? Is alcoholism a criminal problem ? Of course not they are medical problems. Why is a drug addiction any different?
Despite what all the republicans say he was a much better president than king George II. The worst thing Clinton did was get a blow job. Bush...take your pick, illegally tap out phones, invade a country based on false intelligence, legalize torture, or call those who disagree with him pro terrorist.
What is your problem with Hillary Clinton? I mean I don't like her either but you seem to be going our of your way to smear her. I don't understand this hatred that most conservatives have of Hillary. She is certainly closer to the Republican Party (AKA The Establishment Party) platform than Barack Obama or John Edwards is.
What caused George Bush.'s defeat more???
What do you think hurt George Bush more in 1992, raising taxes or Ross Perot being in the race???
