Do you have children? Grand children?

This 2008 election is not about us. It is about what kind of future we pass on to our children.

Two factors have led me to write this letter. One, the reality that the media and the status quo in Washington have made this campaign one of embarrassment by trying to divide us rather than unite us and two, when I heard this week of the many veterans who commit suicide each day after their return from Iraq and Afghanistan. These numbers should be listed as casualties of war - I am so deeply saddened and impassioned to do something in my small way to help foster change.

I am truly appalled that so many democratic super delegates have chosen to put blinders on, and have refused to look honestly at the choices presented before Americans during this critical 2008 election. This act of denial says to me that these super delegates are fearful and self centered. We have put our trust in them as smart, informed people and now they seem to turn their backs on American families and young people by remaining neutral in their endorsement of a presidential candidate.

How can these super delegates deny the fact that Senator Barack Obama is special and is a once in a life time candidate? Shame on those who refuse to see and accept this fact. Obama is the only one that can truly offer our country a new beginning for a future with promise. Just look at the fervor and following of not just young people but also so many Americans of every age and walk of life that truly believe that our country can be changed for the good of all, and that our image and role can be mended worldwide. Forget about the concern that he would not take care of the old, the working class, the down trodden - rather, unlike any other candidate, he truly promises to be the only one with genuine compassion for all people. Who can deny that we as human beings have far much more in common than what divides us?

I believe the current distraction of R. Wright is just that, a distraction from truth. Truth is often a difficult pill to ingest and the media as well as too many American citizens thrive on the side show - it is similar to the slowing down and stalling we experience each day on our highways as drivers gawk with mouths wide open at an accident, an arrest or any trivial roadside distraction. Forget it, keep your eyes on the road, keep your car in the safe zone and on the future that lies ahead!

I write this letter not mainly for myself but because I love my son, a fifteen year old, for whom I hope he has the promise of a bright future. Again, this election is not about you, nor about me, but about our children.

Please consider, and do the right thing and endorse Barack Obama.

Thank you.

Your right Rev. Wright is a distraction and unfortunatly it is making an impact on this election. I am optimistic that the superdeligates will look past this distraction...
