Where are the Republicans in this site?
I think it's tough to rally if you are a Republican this year. Not a whole lot of wins going on, and the overwhelming majority of people want "change" from the current republican administration.
It's also been my impression so far that they refuse to engage in any topic not "fitting" their agenda. Kind of a bummer, as I was also hoping we would have more of a debate here.
How and why are superdelegates necessary? If I can make an analogy, it would be like giving football commentators the ability to add extra points to the score of the game so their favorite team wins- because playing wasn't good enough. Can you imagine if the Giants won, but then Terry, Howie and Jimmie Johnson could add more points to the game so the Patriots (their pick) could win?
Mellencamp Asks McCain to Stop Using Tunes
I think its cool that Mellencamp said something to McCain as well. I think Mellencamp is actually one of the few artists who actually has tried to participate in the process, and has the right to tell someone not to use his music.
Amend the Constitution so it's in line with God's standards?
I honestly cannot believe I just saw that.
Ohmygod, PLEASE let Huckabee win the nomination
I'm so all over Huckabee/Colbert '08! Seriously, in this election nothing would shock me anymore.
Emotional Clinton Says, This Is Personal
Amazing that she continues to make misstep after misstep. What happened to the Clinton campaigning machine?
Kucinich Asks Supporters to Back Obama
I realize we still have many primaries to go, but I was really impressed by Obama's victory speech. I was already leaning his way, and I believe he won mine (and a lot of other) votes that night.
Does Obama's Win Show US Is Colorblind?
Um, not sure I agree Rick. I believe he has a very good chance to win in South Carolina, Georgia, Mississipi and Louisana.
ctm3rd, check out the issue page: http://www.politicalbase.com/issues/net-neutrality/18/
I think it does a good job of summarizing the issue.
Who's the most powerful political media personality?
Powerful in terms of sway of american opinion? I think that Jon Stewart and Bill Maher have more power than people think because they are "comedians". Most people can "handle" the news on tough topics when it's delivered with a punch line, and sadly, I think more people are swayed by these two than the other more "serious" personalities. I mean, isn't the Colbert thing just a bit scary?
Check it out folks: http://www.politicalbase.com/battles/the-power-players-battle/1/battle/#next
We just launched a new quiz called "Battles!". The idea behind it is to pit the political "power players" against each other in comparison, in context of some serious and not-so-serious questions. We'll be launching more of these Battles over time, so please let us know if there are certain sets of people you would like to see in a battle. And any questions too!
You'll notice that after you take the quiz, you can see how everyone is ranking after you battle. We've also created "cards" for people participating in the battles that show up on their homepage. For example, see Fred Thompson's: http://www.politicalbase.com/people/fred-thompson/3613/
You'll notice that he hasn't done so well. If you want to see specifically, check out his battle page: http://www.politicalbase.com/battles/fred-thompson/10/battle-stats
Look forward to hearing what you think of the new feature. Big thank you to Dave and Coonce for getting it done so soon after launch!
Team Politicalbase.
"who should you vote for?" test
Great feedback Miriam and Niels. We actually do have issues weighted, and we need to do a better job of exposing them after the test so you can see how they sway the results. We're actually looking for some additional help so we can fine tune it. We really want this test to be more than just entertaining, so thanks a lot for the feedback.
