The precedence set by the illegal wiretapping established by the Bush administration is one which could lead to an enormous abuse of power and major infringements upon the basic Constitutional Rights of every citizens. Honestly, even if warrantless wiretapping is prevalent in some democracies (or even all), such a practice is strictly prohibited in the constitution.
