Rice's role in future administrations?
Washington Post: Colin L. Powell, in his last face-to-face meeting with President Bush before stepping down as secretary of state in January 2005, tried to impress upon him one last time the dangers he saw the United States facing in Iraq, according to a new Powell biography......
......The book is among the latest accounts of the divisions in the administration as it hurtled toward war and stumbled through its aftermath. The Powell biography provides further detail on his early misgivings about the war and the size of the force assembled to fight it, doubts that have been reported in several other books, including those by Ms. DeYoung’s colleague at The Post, Bob Woodward.
Despite his doubts, however, Mr. Powell never threatened to resign or go public with his complaints, according to these accounts, because such acts would betray the ethic of the loyal soldier he felt he was.
It looks like it was more just internal rifts within the administration.
The U.S should be a part of Kyoto
i think that this next administration needs to make a point of supporting this ratification.
Too dangerous? Or a neccesity?
JDubb Says:I think that we should focus our research on furthering renewable sources of energy. Surely theres a safer method that's better for the environment.
I agree, but in the interim, I think that nuclear power is a reasonable alternative in a first step to get this country off oil. I firmly blieve that the next administration must focus on the initiative.
I am not a big fan of DRM, but I do believe that copyright holders and content creators should get paid for their work. From a purely music perspective, I am a really big fan of the Real Rhapsody Player as it uses a subscription model, which for me, works perfectly.
We'll see. I think he did a pretty good job. We need polls on this site though so we can track this stuff!
Site suggestion: Collapsable quotes
I strongly agree. I think digg has a very good commenting system. You guys should try to do some of the stuff they're doing.
"Privacy no longer can mean anonymity" says top intelligence
Yes, so to elaborate, I believe that wire-tapping at its most basic level is an invasion of privacy. However, I do feel that if it is used sparsely, and in an effective manner then it can help a society on multiple fronts (internal attacks, external attacks, drug busts, any criminal activity really). And I am from the school of thought that if I have nothing to hide, and I am an upstanding citizen in this society then I really shouldn't have anything to hide.
However, what you were describing in your blog and some of the counter-points you made against wire-tapping were very well articulated and is making me rethink my stance (just a bit).

wow, i had no idea that wire-tapping was getting this involved.. it almost makes me change my stance on the subject.
We need Univeral Health Care Coverage
I think we do need universal healthcare -- I really like the way the system works in Norway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_care#Europe)
