I am an IT Director from Birmingham, AL with a loving wife, 5 year old son and a thoroughly incompetent grasp on American Politics. I felt it was time one of those changed and figured the political change would be cheaper.
Always figure I was brought up a Republican. My folks are both Republican, not from any deep seated belief system or because we were wealthy and wanted to keep it that way, just because. I started looking into my beliefs and what I thought government should be doing back during the first Bush presidency (as opposed to Bush's first presidency if you catch my drift). Where before I had been "raised" to blindly walk in and pull that 'Vote all Republican' lever in the voting booth, I began to think about who and what I was voting for. Scary thought that should have been introduced a long time before I know. Anyway, at this point in time I see myself more closely aligned with the Dems and I really consider myself to be a centrist - I am liberal on some topics, conservative on others. Plus being a computer engineer I have a hard time voting for someone who doesn't know the faintest thing about computers.

According to the Associated Press, William Weld - former Governor of Massachusetts is endorsing Barack Obama for President. The former governor is quoted as saying:
"Senator Obama is a once-in-a-lifetime candidate who will transform our politics and restore America's standing in the world. We need a president who will lead based on our common values and Senator Obama demonstrates an ability to unite and inspire.
"Throughout this campaign I've watched his steady leadership through trying times and I'm confident he is the best candidate to move our country forward,"
Interesting since he campaigned for and indorsed Romney earlier this year...
