Who's the most powerful political media personality?

I think that Jon Stewart is the most powerful because he is able to report news in a way that people will listen to it and want to listen again, which is more than some of the major network channels can say. Go Daily Show!

needs to be done

with all of the problems nasa has been having, all of the failed launches and delays, they could use something to make them into the place kids dream to work for once more. A manned launch to mars would be just the thing.

Stewart or Colbert

well, one thing's for sure. They're both thriving on this presidential election. With the length of the democratic nomination, the candidates, and the sometimes unfortunately humorous mistakes made by the network figures, they've both reached a new level of funny. Also, my favorite jon stewart moment has come from this year. check out this video: http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=156231&title=team-daily-polls

Should Superdelegates follow the will of voters?

The entire point of BEING a super-delegate is to be the person who holds sway in decisions concerning the people, not the other way around.

Crossfire

Jon Stewart (and Stephen Colbert) both have this skill where they can- with words or even just a laugh- take control of an interview. It was quite obvious that Chris Matthews was feeling uncomfortable.

Stewart or Colbert

I've been watching Stewart and Colbert more often, and as much as I hate to flip-flop I find myself starting to tilt dangerously back towards the Jon Stewart side of the scale. Stephen Colbert is more POLITICALLY funny, but John Stewart is "funny" funny.

America is all about choice

I don't know morn. It has been proved that big, dangerous weapons are a very quick way to end a war, and I think that both the U.S and China would use them if they felt that what they were getting into would be long and costly. I'm not saying they SHOULD, I'm just saying they WOULD.

I agree with you SophieMo, the government is gaining power, while the people are losing it. There should be something done to at least bring power back towards something closer to a balance.

I would say that you would have the right to join the other side, although it might not make you a very popular public figure in the states.

We just want Jews to be perfected...

I'm sorry to anyone who is taking this entire interview as a serious idea of how we can help our country, but this is just sort of stupid. I read this, and all I could think was "O.K, so her views are wierd, but she's entitled to them." Then, when one poster said that he agreed. and other posters talked about different religions we could convert everyone to, I feel like it's a bit out of hand. I think that the world is fine with seperate relligions. I mean, at least as fine as a world that wars over religion can be. Still, it's got us through thousands of years, and if we don't do anything like assimilate religion, it will get us through thousands more.

He beat Gore to the punch!

What would have been great was if Colbert had won, and could rub it in the face of Obama and Hilary for the rest of his life. Alas, it was not meant to be...

What a complete idiot. I'm jewish, and she expects me to just accept all the things that she said? What complete idiocy.

South Carolina’s Largest Newspaper Backs Obama

I've liked what I've seen of Obama so far. He's a convincing speaker, a powerful presence, and a seemingly nice guy. I figure that the advantage that Hilary has is that she's been around longer, but if I had a vote to cast, it would go to Obama.

Would it make a difference?

We all know that drugs are a bad thing for people, and regulating and taxing would possibly discourage people from taking them, but not all drug addicts are guys that couldn't afford to pay for cocaine if you could buy it. Would it really make for a better situation?

Government should think for itself

I think it's disappointing that the candidates are trying to sway voters through religion. That's treading on dangerous ground, because a campaign based on religion is only one step away from implying that your religion is better than your opponent's religion.

Government should think for itself

PoliticalCrunch says: "are you saying that religous groups should have less rights than all other groups and individuals in this country?"

No, I'm saying that the church shouldn''t have MORE power to sway government decisions than other factors. Equality is great, an unbalance on the side of the church is wrong.

Hillary's Chicken and Waffles

I read that Hilary stood up for herself a whole lot better in this debate, and, like you pointed out, even got some shots off on her opponents too.

Let's Learn From Our Mistakes Going In

Bethany : "Building up Iraq's infrastructure, increasing oil exports, fairly distributing oil revenue, and giving Sunni's more power in government while not upsetting the Shiites will all help to end the violence from Sunni Iraqis"

Sure, this is true, but how do we do this while the Sunni Iraqis are angry at us in the meantime? We have a problem here that won't be as easy to deal with as increasing the economy. Anyways, as soon as the people that are doing the attacking see us trying to interfere with the Iraq government more, they won't let us go any further without an unwanted fight. I do think that you have the right idea on giving Sunnis more government power. Maybe equalizing the government will help make peace between us and Iraq. Creating an equal government is the main reason we worked so hard to get rid of the dictator formerly known as Suddam anyways...

Government should think for itself

The church should not be able to affect government decisions. A good government SHOULD be able to make its own decisions without needing the help of the pope.
