I was already intrested in politics, and I was looking for the site to talk just about that. I stumbled upon it one day and I was hooked.

Barack Obama - 67 match You must be ambitious and idealistic, like Barack Obama. Obama is a liberal democrat who, unlike his rivals, opposed the Iraq war from the start. With only 3 years in the Senate, his inexperience worries some and sometimes reveals itself in the debates, but he also has the charisma and popular support that the others lack. |

John Edwards - 59 match John Edwards is a progressive democrat with little legislative experience (6 years). He has noble goals accompanied with detailed plans of how to accomplish them. He believes that resources are best spent on poverty alleviation (in the U.S.), universal health coverage, and addressing global warming than on reducing the budget deficit or continue funding an unpopular war. He is the most populist and protectionist of the candidates and is the only one willing to admit that his plans will require more- not fewer taxes, but the bill will still be less than what the Iraq War is currently costing. |

Chris Dodd - 59 match Dodd is a liberal democrat who is a well-seasoned policy-maker. He has been in Washington since 1975 as a U.S. Representative and Senator and consistently receives thing between a 95-100% approval rating from Americans for Democratic Action and the National Committee for an Effective Congress. Unlike his Democrat counterparts, he believes that same-sex marriage and civil unions should be an issue left to states and supports free trade agreements. As a legislator, he is known for his work on expanding health care coverage to the uninsured, particularly children. |

Bill Richardson - 54 match Bill Richardson, the Governor of New Mexico governor, ran for the Democratic Party nomination for President in 2008. He is a former congressman, United Nations ambassador, and U.S. Secretary of Energy. He was the 2004 Democratic National Convention and Chairman of the Democratic Governors Association in 2005 and 2006. Richardson offers valuable foreign policy credentials and executive experience. He could deliver New Mexico, a swing state in this year's election, and bring the Latino vote. |

John Edwards - 54 match John Edwards is the Senator from North Carolina who joined John Kerry as his running-mate in the 2004 election and then unsuccessfully ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008. He brings the "white Southern populist" cards to the table. He gained support among the working-class, a group that has yet to embrace Obama, by focusing on poverty, health care, and the displacement of workers by trade. |

Wesley Clark - 47 match Wesley Clark retired as the four-star Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO. He ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 but fizzled out after failing to win any of the important contests. His odds in the VEEPstakes are strong- He's white, he's southern, he has the experience Obama lacks and he can trump McCain's stint in Vietnam. Clark served 34 years at the Department of Defense and led the U.S. intervention in Kosovo. Clark can top off his resume as the valedictorian of his class at West Point and a Rhodes Scholar. |
You may have heard of a church shooting in Knoxville a couple of days ago, but you may not have heard this on Sunday.
Apparently, Jim Adkisson, age 58 was apparently a fan of conservative pundits such as Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. According to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, investigators found books written by O'Reilly, and others like him, at his home. Mr. Adkisson told police that his rampage was sparked by feelings of outrage over liberalism.
Of course, that may very well be just an excuse he made because he thought he'd get off clean, but none the less, this case would make for an intresting discussion.
