Liberals Love Ron Paul
Added by jmac on Oct 12, 2007 - add as a friend | PM me

This cracks me up...I'm sitting here watching Bill Maher and one of his guests is Tucker Carlson (who I happen to like). Tucker just brought up something I've been saying for a while. If these people knew what Paul had in mind for this country, they would run to Kucinich as fast as they could with their wallets open. True, he is anti Iraq war, and I know how much some Dems love to hear a Republican trash the current president, but Ron Paul is anti everything. Anti subsidies, anti welfare, anti universal health care. You name it, he ain't paying for it. I really like this, and in a perfect world we would all contribute voluntarily and hold up the poorest in our society. Granted, it is very safe to "love" Ron Paul, since he has no chance of being elected to the presidency and it's not like I plan on donating to his campaign or anything. What I like about Ron Paul is the Same thing I like about Kucinich. His honesty. If you listen to these men, you can make an accurate judgment about whether or not to get behind them. I've known for a long time who my actual choices are, and I'm ok with either New Yorker. I have not, and will not until the election, decided which one to vote for, but I have been paying attention to their answers and their non answers in the debates and I feel pretty ok about about whichever of the two ascends to the throne. I have to admit, it's pretty nice this time around to not have everybody so wound up like in 2004. I just hope the Dems don't have their expectations too high for Old Lady C. My gut says they are in for a big disappointment...and then i kind of laugh a little. But not in mean way. Maybe once it's one of their own waging a war in Iraq some of them will show a little support and we can get things wrapped up over there. It's pretty obvious that whoever the winner is, the war ain't over till it's over. Maybe with a new face on it we can get this shit finished. Having said all that, I just can't help but root for the Ron. But ya know, I also love the way Hillary laughs at stupid questions, and at decent questions she doesn't want to answer. And, the way Guiliani grins and nods his head to make everybody else on stage look stupid is pretty great too. Sure they're both liars, but c'mon...it's not like we don't see right through them.

Just listened to your "Radio (Blvd)" song above, wow, it's not only great but also very unexpected. Very different from the Blew Willie days, no?
