This cracks me up...I'm sitting here watching Bill Maher and one of his guests is Tucker Carlson (who I happen to like). Tucker just brought up something I've been saying for a while. If these people knew what Paul had in mind for this country, they would run to Kucinich as fast as they could with their wallets open. True, he is anti Iraq war, and I know how much some Dems love to hear a Republican trash the current president, but Ron Paul is anti everything. Anti subsidies, anti welfare, anti universal health care. You name it, he ain't paying for it. I really like this, and in a perfect world we would all contribute voluntarily and hold up the poorest in our society. Granted, it is very safe to "love" Ron Paul, since he has no chance of being elected to the presidency and it's not like I plan on donating to his campaign or anything. What I like about Ron Paul is the Same thing I like about Kucinich. His honesty. If you listen to these men, you can make an accurate judgment about whether or not to get behind them. I've known for a long time who my actual choices are, and I'm ok with either New Yorker. I have not, and will not until the election, decided which one to vote for, but I have been paying attention to their answers and their non answers in the debates and I feel pretty ok about about whichever of the two ascends to the throne. I have to admit, it's pretty nice this time around to not have everybody so wound up like in 2004. I just hope the Dems don't have their expectations too high for Old Lady C. My gut says they are in for a big disappointment...and then i kind of laugh a little. But not in mean way. Maybe once it's one of their own waging a war in Iraq some of them will show a little support and we can get things wrapped up over there. It's pretty obvious that whoever the winner is, the war ain't over till it's over. Maybe with a new face on it we can get this shit finished. Having said all that, I just can't help but root for the Ron. But ya know, I also love the way Hillary laughs at stupid questions, and at decent questions she doesn't want to answer. And, the way Guiliani grins and nods his head to make everybody else on stage look stupid is pretty great too. Sure they're both liars, but c'mon...it's not like we don't see right through them.
I don't know where all you people are from, but where I live there is an unwritten law that we must all publicly advertise our opinions either on the ass end of our vehicles, stamped across our chests, or in some cases plastered on giant billboards on the side of our homes on the busiest street in town. Hell, I've even had to pull down antiwar rally posters posted all over the local park. Now, I have no problem with people planning rallies, but can we keep the politics off the playground please? Now, for some reason almost one hundred percent of these displays are off the charts left. You know... Bush lied, people died...No Blood For Oil...Impeach Bush...blah blah yada yada. So, I'm printing up more realistic versions of these popular bumper stickers for the upcoming elections in the hope that the trend of needing everyone to know exactly what you're thinking continues into the next cycle. Below are a few early drafts...anyone who has any ideas, please submit below!
Great new site! hoping to explore more as I get time. I would like to ask for a small fix in the profile set up page. Along with Dem, Rep, Ind, Green etc, it would be nice to have a choice for No Party Affiliation. I am of the mind that politicians will not stop taking our vote for granted as long as they can buy voter data that shows how many party members are in a particular district. If every voter registered "no party" they might have to actually tell what they think, rather than assuming they have our vote already. I look forward to digging in to all this info you guys have put together! Love the maps! signed, unaffiliated.
