Finally Ron Paul gets an interviewer that devotes an ample amount of time to him and takes him seriously. The overwhelming response to this video, by the usual suspects, has been a lot more open-minded and even supportive. I have a feeling this interview is going to do a lot of good for the Ron Paul campaign.

The Bush Administration is not known for being champions of the Constitution, and with the recent news of the al-Qaeda intel leak, I can't help but think it will only lead to more dismantling of the Bill of Rights. The scenario as I see it goes like this: The Bush Administration will use this incident as reinforcement for withholding information from the press in the interest of national security. Or possibly they will pass some bill deeming journalists terrorists, or some ridiculous shit like that. At this point, anything's possible.
Which brings me to my next point. Recently Rush Limbaugh and MoveOn.org have gotten into a bit of trouble. MoveOn with their infamous "Betray Us" ad in the New York Times and Rush with his "phony soldiers" rhetoric. While MoveOn.org has received a condemnation from Congress on the ad, Rush has remained unscathed. The problem here isn't Rush or MoveOn, it's the fact that both sides are working against each other towards the same ultimate goal. That goal, whether perceived or not, is to force the media to have to look over their soldiers if they say anything about the military. Is this what we want? That isn't free speech.
In summation, we have lost enough civil liberties as it is, let us not willfully give them up on our own. If you want MoveOn/Rush to be silenced, or the media in its entirety for certain leaks; whether it be propelled by disgust or fear, think about the ultimate outcome.
