"Christian Nation" ...HAHAHA

Every one of those mentioned attended church regularly. You've really got your facts wrong. Even Adams, who had issues with some of the church establishment, still paid lip service to Christian principles.

Actually, that group of Christians wrote the constitution in a way that no church would become the church of the nation and that church and state would be separate.

Nothing wrong, however, with having Christian principles. You can boil all of 'em down to two. Love God with all your heart and treat others as you would want to be treated!

What's wrong with that for a guiding principle? It even allows for atheists, agnostics, Muslims, Buddhists and Wiccans to practice their religion.

As to a person's belief about gays and hell or whatever, so what. You guys believe we Christians are sinners against some philosophy of yours too. The sin is not so much a sin of commission, but a thought crime. Many Christians believe things like abortion is murder and homosexual behavior is sin. Okay, so what? The way these forums go, many of you believe that voting for McCain or Palin is a sin. An elderly lady who is a friend of mine was wearing a McCain/Palin shirt in the store the other day and was accosted by an angry woman who got in her face and began shouting at her and frightened her badly.

So much for protecting the freedom of speech or freedom to believe as you wish.

Christians aren't trying to shut up the left. You can (and do) say what you wish. From what I hear on these forums, the left is not interested in protecting the right's freedom to speak.

It's leftist regimes that are the first to bring out the stormtroopers and fire up the torture chambers. Which principles would you rather govern this country?

If McCain/Palin is Elected the Draft will have to Play

MUMU,

A) Don't think you're a moderate B) Pretty sure you're not a conservative. C) Likely you wrote that nonsense in order to discredit conservatives and make us look like ignorant hicks!

You guys must really think we're stupid. Ironic since the Dem's are so effective at playing to the lower 50% of the IQ scale of the American public. Short emotional, reassuring sentences repeated over and over - like a lottery commercial.

I'm just sayin'

Lessons from Iraq.

Of course we learned lessons from Iraq.

  1. We can take down a psychotic low-life genocidal maniac and his former subjects will be glad and celebrate in the streets.

  2. We can help said nation re-establish itself and rejoin the community of nations (like with did with Japan and Germany)

  3. If you go to where the people who are attacking your country, destroying buildings and killing thousands of your citizens live and start blowing up their hidey holes and taking away their psychotic low-life genocidal maniac supporters, then they stop attacking you with airplanes and destroying buildings and killing thousands of your citizens.

  4. You can't rely on Europe to support much of anything that involves taking any sort of risk, even if they are being threatened by a growing terrorist menace themselves. They'd rather let someone else take all the risk and enjoy the results without any of the expense.

  5. Liberals don't like anything that wasn't their idea or that involves doing anything effective that doesn't involve a lot of meetings, air travel and photo opportunities with evil despots.

Have you any idea how tough Kennedy was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The boy was ready to push the button and Kruschev knew it. Kennedy was smart enough to pull the boats back long enough for the cumbersome Russian command and control to turn the Russian fleet around. Kruschev knew that Kennedy would sink that fleet and had the resources with which to do it.

We had angels watching us on that one. With Obama, our military would soon be taking lessons in how to unfurl white flags from the French!

Keating: McCain's Rezko

McCain was exonerated on those charges and the committee said there is zero evidence he was complicit in anything illegal, immoral or fattening!

Bottom line is even though I don't like his policies, McCain is honorable. Obama is hooked up with a lot of shady characters.

Obama is the most liberal senator in the senate. McCain is not.

Ultimately it is about political beliefs.

Obama believes in central planning, big government, punish the wealthy, redistribute wealth, socialized medicine, nationalized industry and commerce.

McCain is at least saying he believes in capitalism and free trade.

There's no question who we have to vote for, even if it's distasteful.

With Barak Hussein Obama, we're going to bet a socialist government and THAT IS BAD FOR THE UNITED STATES.

Period!

Palin's affair update!!!!!

Great flying burrito brothers! You guys really do like putting the old leftist hypocrisy on parade.

As to the so-called Palin Affair, let me use arguments borrowed verbatim from the liberal playbook.

  1. It's a lie.
  2. It's only sex. Everybody lies about sex.
  3. What you do in private should not matter. Only what you do in public matters and then only if it doesn't hurt your candidacy, career or power base.

Of course, these three principles only apply if you are a liberal Democrat, but I think what's sauce for the goose....

Is this guy a joke?

Hello Dalai,

Did you work with Thompson at some time that you know this from experience. This is the guy who won his senate race by roaring around Tennessee in his pickup doing stump speeches. And he's not a young man.

Just because he didn't run around sticking his face in front of every camera he can find, doesn't mean he wasn't a hard worker or that he would somehow do a half-ass job as president.

Ah, but the media pundits SAID he was lazy! Therefore, it must be true....

Great dukeamooka! When are American voters ever gonna grow up!

Is this guy a joke?

All the stuff Thompson gets criticized for are the things that I like about him.

  1. He's lazy.  That's a bunch of baloney.  That's what the media tried to say about Ronald Reagan too because Reagan didn't micro-manage his administration like Jimmy Carter did.  That's some lazy this government can use.  Personally, I believe the less the politicians actually do, the more secure are our liberties and wallets.  Thompson said about it -  "I don't like spending 14- and 16-hour days voting on 'sense of the Senate' resolutions on irrelevant matters. There are some important things we really need to get on with—and on a daily basis, it's very frustrating." Defenders say he spent more time in preparation than other Senators. Paul Noe, a former staffer, told the New York Times, "On the lazy charge, I have to chuckle because I was there sometimes until 1 in the morning working with the man."
  2. No "fire in the belly" to be president.  So what?  I really don't want someone as president who wants it as badly as you apparently have to want it to get the job.  I really believe the only way we'll ever get a decent president is if Washington, DC gets nuked and the next guy in line for the job is some mayor from out in Kansas somewhere or other.
  3. No major legislation with his name on it.  Whew boy, so nobody liked the bills he introduced?  Well with Congress getting a 9% approval rating right about now, you've got to wonder what was in all those bills of Thompson's that they turned down.  Mighta been a coupla real gems in there - ya think!  If they were the opposite of what actually got passed, maybe we'd have been better off if they hadn't been shelved since the guys that shelved them are doing a 9% job of it right now.
  4. He's an actor.  Cool.  I got a two word answer for that one.  Ronald Reagan.
  5. He's kinda old.  66:  I've got another two word answer....you guessed it,  Ronald Reagan

He gets high marks on conservative issues.  I did a web-based quiz to determine what candidate I most agreed with and I got a 98% agreement with Thompson.

I'd like to see him in the Veep spot in case McCain were to croak or have a stroke or something.  It would be nice to have someone competent to step in and the man is completely competent.

I'm just sayin'

the curse

In our country's history, whenever the country has been in trouble, God has placed a strong leader the head of our government, sometimes almost by accident (Lincoln was something of a fluke.

Our country was coming apart at the seams in the late 70's and we needed Ronald Reagan right then and for those 8 years to buy out country a couple of more decades.

George Bush too was something of a fluke (if you believe the media and Al Gore) and yet would you really rather have had Clinton's evil assistant running the country and trying to come up with something to do about the 9/11 attacks?

Can you imagine how badly we'd have been beaten up if we'd gone into Afghanistan and had Saddam Hussein at our backs giving aid and comfort to the terrorists?

If we need a leader, God will provide us with one, unless we've done like ancient Israel and made him so mad at us he decides to let the Babylonians wipe us out.

Now that's a sobering thought.

Just one man's opinion...
